To: the Chief Manager of The Grand Hotel
I wish to make a reservation at your hotel for about two weeks in February, 2008.
I would also like to ask for your assistance in the following way during my visit:
I own a small café-restaurant called SPICE CAFÉ, which is located in Tokyo, Japan.
In addition to being the owner, I'm the manager and chef. Since our specialty is Indian curry, I'm looking for somebody to teach me more about Indian cuisine. I particularly like south Indian food and, at this stage, am interested in learning more about it. There are plenty of Indian restaurants in Tokyo, but none of them feature south Indian food on their menus:
though restaurants here have Naan and Tandoori Chicken, they don't serve full south Indian meals.
As a result, I’ve been drawn to the idea of serving south Indian dishes at my café-restaurant.
I am not, however, interested in going to an Indian cooking school. As I am already a professional,
I believe that working in and observing the kitchen of a restaurant would be the most beneficial way for me to learn. A friend of mine suggested that I try The Grand Hotel in Kerala because he explained that it has a wonderful restaurant and friendly staff.
As well, I was recently reading a Japanese cooking magazine called ‘dancyu’,
which highly recommended The Grand Hotel’s restaurant as one of the best in Kerala.
So, if possible, I would like to study new cooking styles and techniques by ‘interning’ in your kitchen.
While doing this, I would also like to stay as a guest at The Grand Hotel.
We're thinking about going to Kerala in February, 2008 and to stay for about two weeks.
Please refer to the homepage and e-mail addresses below for further information about SPICE CAFÉ and for any related inquiries.
Thank you,
Kazushiro Ito
